Everyone Races in Quiptown

Here's the low down on the cruz......
We had another great day with attendance and participation nothing less than excellent .  One thing to keep in mind "THIS IS STREET RACING" .   Yes we do have a professional tree start and yes we do try, and I say try, to run it in a somewhat organized manner, BUT it is still frowned upon by most of the stuffed shirts in the area.  We do get good co-operation from the city of Aliquippa and they have been gracious enough to let us get away with somthing that, to my knowledge, NO ONE ELSE HAS EVER DONE, anywhere in this area or the state for that matter.
We do realize we have parking problems and that most racers who are used to track facilities want to be close to the track and Not in a gravel lot.  So WOULD WE, but we just don't have enough area to accomodate that kind of Pro set-up.   We are dealing with five mills, two large trucking firms and numerous smaller businesses changing shifts, moving trucks and having to carry on work. They ALL do their best to work with us, but lets face it "We can't shut them down" or they will complain to City Government and I think we all know who will lose that battle.

For the record.... We received a letter from Beaver County Friday night stating that we were not allowed to use County property (they own both sides of the road  the blue building and parking lot adjacent to it) for our cruz. Now think about that one.......we have two days till the cruz, possibly having the Beaver County Sherrifs Department on the site the morning  of the event, no parking  and only our club members to bail us out.  Let me tell you,  we cleared, graded and rolled the field next to the paved lot on Saturday, just so we could keep things together.  If you don't think that was a major undertaking, think again. Sure there was some debris in the field and it was dusty, but you honestly don't have a clue what we went through to make it that good.  You all have to remember the bottom line here is "YOU GOT TO RACE"      RIGHT?     If any one out there has a site that will work better..... EMAIL ME .   We would be more than happy to take our show on the road.   Sure we're  "The Aliquippa Outlaws", and we'd like to have it here, but we are in it for the racing the same as you. Somthing to keep in mind is.... this all started so WE could race and have fun.  If the truth be known..... WE GET TO DO LESS RACING THAN ANYONE BECAUSE WE HAVE TO RUN THE DAMN THING .     We are always open to any suggestions and all the help we can get.   If  YOU or your club want to get involved let us know. We have big plans for drag racing in the County. We need everyone who enjoys the thrill of Drag Racing to get behind us and help in any way necessary to get it going. Write or call the County officials and make yourself heard. Let them know there is a need for this type of event and that the numbers turning out to support it are staggering. Ask them "why so many spectators turn out for our races".  The answer is obvious, people love drag racing.
